Before I start the review on the movie let me tell you the premise of the movie.
Let’s be honest the makers of the movie couldn’t have made a better movie than this movie.The movie starts with a live clip of a Bengali movie “Rajkahini”.
First 3 and a half minutes of the movie is very entertaining and well spent.From the very beginning the makers have been clear in keeping the credits under wrap.I give them full credit for doing that,but the movie does not have any dull moments.
The first 3 and a half minutes are dedicated to the credit sequence,the rest of the movie is fresh,unexpected and gives a feel of excitement.
The movie starts with the suicide of a woman named Indira (Manav Kaul) who is a double amputee due to a car accident.Her husband (Naseeruddin Shah) is an advocate and also the reason for her suicide.
Indira leaves behind her nine year old son Rahul and Rahul is caught and taken care of by a social worker named Vidya (Vidya Balan) who has her own family problems.
A few months later Rahul gets a job opportunity and goes to Mumbai to get married. Rahul gets married and Vidya tries to get back on her feet.She makes a living by selling paan i.e. betel leaves and areca nut.She has the habit of chewing paan.
Suddenly Vidya meets her old friend who is also her boss and decides to take her revenge with her.
There are many other incidents in the movie which I would not be able to mention here.
The story moves quickly and the characters appear in different places keeping you in a constant state of excitement and discomfort.
As the movie moves towards its climax we will discover more about the characters in the movie.I say this
